Skin Care

Don't underestimate the pain a corn can cause or the burning discomfort of callus. MSE Podiatry can help make your feet (and your life) more comfortable.

Corns are areas of hard skin in response to pressure. They can form anywhere on the feet including between the toes. Our care involves removal of the lesion as well as looking at preventative options.

Calluses are thickened areas of the skin's uppermost layer or stratum corneum. They develop in response to areas of excess pressure against the skin.

Warts (also called verruca or papillomas) are a viral infection. Our Podiatrists will assess the lesion and offer an appropriate treatment regime to rid you of the infection.

The feet can harbour many fungal or bacterial infections. If you are suffering chronic itchiness, rashes, redness, flakiness or cracking you may have an infection.

Blisters are caused by friction. If you are suffering recurring blisters a Podiatric assessment will look at skin type, footwear type and causes of pressure.

Ulcers form as a result of skin tissue breaking down and exposing the layers underneath. They're most common under your big toes and the balls of your feet, and they can affect your feet down to the bones.

A skin area on which there are many skin fissures is called cracked skin, and is most commonly a result of skin dryness and thickness.

Sweat and Odour

There are many options for these conditions. A Podiatric assessment will guide you in the right direction to limit the discomfort and embarrassment you may be experiencing.
